Prayer Calendar

My filojournal isn't very 'together' at the mo, I haven't found a set up that works the way I want it to yet. But I know that one of the sections I'd like to be prayer based. So I made these...

Each month has a few lines from some of my favourite worship songs to inspire, encourage and keep me focused. There is then a line for each day of the month to write down something or someone you want to focus on that day. Really looking forward to using them!

Below is each month....

Can you find the odd one out? I may have to edit that one. Hope you enjoyed looking at them :)

Ikea hacks...

Been to ikea today and came back with this cute mini drawers set. I'm thinking of storing the majority of my filofax/stationery bits in it.

(picture from the ikea website)

I could have left it like that but I got a bit creative and now it matches my office!

I love it (actually love my office and how coordinated it is) but this little thing solves lots of storage probs I had without taking up too much space! So let me see if I can share how I use it. (If you click the picture it should enlarge)

To quote my hubby I can now store all my 'funny things'!

Secret Swap #2

Wow! I'm completely blown away. On the Philofaxy swapper group Christa wrote that some lucky person would get swaps from 2 people this month. I never dreamt it would be me! All the lovely goodies below come all the way from Singapore from the lovely Padmini.

There are stickers, sticky notes, post its and a Life is Crafted diary - lush!

Double blessed this month by my two secret swappers - thank you both!

It's secret swapper time!

My secret swap arrived today! So exciting!

It was full of goodies, stickers, sticky notes, pen, washi tape, highlighters, pretty paper, notebooks, ink, stamps and even some love heart sweets! Thank you secret swapper!!

A little personalised notebook - so cute!

I love these stickers! I've never seen them before but they're really fun, the right size for decorating filos and they're practical in that they all have a label. I love them!

Thank you secret swapper I will have great fun playing! :)

Musings....

I love love love my A5 aqua Finsbury and I take it most places but sometimes it's just too big! I recently went to my folks for a week. I went on the megabus and it's about a days travel and I just couldn't carry my filo as well. When I got there I realised I had no diary, no pen, no paper to journal on. nothing! I felt lost and several times wished I'd got it. Well since then I've been wondering about a travel filo or a satellite filo that I can take with me when the A5 is just too big. I currently have Philofaxy's enhanced TM week per view and I was wondering about changing this to a day per page and a month on 2 pages and then if I were to get a pocket I could have a week on a page to refer too and a notes section etc.

What do you think? I'm wondering whether I could keep up 2 diaries - although they would both have slightly different purposes.

Even though I haven't actually decided whether I'm gonna take the plunge or not I have chosen which pocket filo I would get. My current fav is this little beauty..... it's the pocket saffiano in aqua!

What to do, what to do, what to do??

Time to celebrate!!

Today is a very special day in our house! Today my hubby gets his British Citizenship! It's been a very long road but I'm so proud of him! We did it and now we can get on with our life!

I made him this......

After all they don't sell citizenship cards in the shops! Any excuse for a bit of fun!

A secret cave....

Mum took me on a bit of an adventure today. She took me to a warehouse where there didn't seem to be much life, we went in a side door and there in the most unexpected place was a room stuffed full of craft bits, but it gets better, the room led to another room and then another and another. Each overflowing with craft papers, stamps, card making bits, candi, wool, bead making stuff etc. It was just like a secret cave!

The secret cave is called Craftzone and it's in Pontefract, check it out if you can if not the website is: http://www.craftzonepontefract.co.uk/ :)

Pink Pig Crafts

My mum has been telling me about Pink Pigs for months and this morning I finally got to go! It's a little craft shop based in Morley just outside Leeds. On a Thursday Stacy does card workshops, it really is the cutest place!

You can check it out on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/pinkpigcrafts?fref=ts or on the website here: http://www.pinkpigcrafts.co.uk/

So here are the cards we made...

The front card is mums and the back card is mine :) Mum's design was the one Stacy gave you to make in whatever colours you chose and mine was just one I made up. I was experimenting with promarkers, they're very cool!

I also couldn't resist picking up some pretty washi...

I love having a mum who I can talk crafty things with and who will listen to my filo ramblings. I live in hope that maybe one day she'll catch the bug or at least the washi tape bug! :)

Feedly

I was reading through the Filofax for Philofaxy Fans page on Facebook today (probably for the umpteenth time but we won't go there) when I discovered a convo about following blogs and the tools people use. Well I love following other people's blogs, they're inspiring, so I checked out the recommended apps.

The one I chose is called Feedly. I would thoroughly recommend it, it makes all the blogs you follow into a personal magazine just for you. You can categorize the blogs you follow and it just means you check one place instead of multiple. Very clever, wish I'd known something like this existed sooner!

Check out Feedly here: http://www.feedly.com/home#welcome

Hope it helps you too! I now have it on my tablet and phone as well as laptop. Works best for me on the tablet tho!

Happy reading!

New project

Having finished the baby blanket I needed another project to do for when I'm just sat watching TV or films so I decided to crochet a blanket but this one will be for the office cos it's always cold in there! I need 70 squares, 14 in each of the colours below and 14 a mixture of the 4 and then I'm going to crochet the squares together using a chocolate brown.

I love the colours and I love how they match exactly with the curtains in the office. I've nearly done 20 squares and slowly realising what a big project it is, but it's so easy to do in front of the tv. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished result!

Martha Stewart Organisation

Been checking out Martha Stewarts blog and found this really useful tip on how to store bed linen so I reorganised the linen cupboard.

The best bit was that when the hubby went in he was impressed and then even more impressed that he could find a matching set of bedding to change the bed! Simple things :)

Secret Swapper

I've been away for the weekend and got home to discover that my secret swapper parcel had arrived! I'm so excited and a bit overwhelmed with all that's in it! I feel so lucky!

There were stickers, washi tape, smash bits, postcards, post it's, martha stewart bits, moleskin folder, a pen, stamps, clips. It's just amazing! Off to play now :)

It is finished.... sort of!

I have been working on a crochet baby blanket for over 3 years now (although clearly not very consistently). It's the first thing I've ever crocheted so I'm well pleased with it. I was meant to give it to my sister in law for my nephew when he was born. Now he's 3+ I doubt he'll have much need of it and I have a slight problem....I've run out of wool to complete it and don't live in the same town as the wool shop I bought it in :(
Here's the nearly finished result...

At some point I'll undo the blue and finish off the edges with white cos you can get that anywhere but for now I'm calling it finished. Still pleased with it tho :)

Washi tape storage

Since my washi tape collection seems to be growing I've been wondering how to store it. I found this blog - 27 ways to store washi tape. I quite like the expressi capsule holder, it looks fun! In reality tho' I need something that doesn't take up much space. How do you store your washi tape?

A little bit of Washi Tape Heaven

They've got washi tape in the Range! First time I've seen them sold individually!

So of course I couldn't resist getting some.. the hubby was with me so I was good! Although I'd have got more as it was 2 for £2! Bargainous!

Then I got these for scrapbooking.....

The next day I went back and got some more washi cos it was so cheap!

My washi tape collection is growing!

Had my folks and my aunty staying over Easter and we popped to the range for a coffee and a browse. Luckily my dad is just as crafty/arty as my mum so didn't mind this at all but followed by saying he could always read a magazine in the cafe while we shop - what a star!

Mum educated me and my aunty on clear stamps, blocks and inks. I also learnt what a cuttlebug machine does!

I bought my first stamp, block and ink.... thinking of my filojournal.

Here they are...... :)

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! We've enjoyed celebrating with friends and family! As part of our celebrations we've dyed eggs but I forgot to photograph them! They looked a little like this but ours were all plain colours. We had plain colours and glittery colours. Hope you enjoy the day whatever you do! Blessings x

It's here!!

My Red Domino A5 is here! It's lovely!

I've already been moving things in and she's already looking fat!

I made some dividers out of the Riverbank Revels paper.

I haven't finished sorting it out yet but I have some sections in mind. I'd like a daily gratitude journal, a scribble/smash journal, quotes that inspire me, verses from the Bible that are important to me and I'm not sure what else.

Really excited to have a journal again that encompasses I like!

Paintastic!

I work from home quite a lot and my office is tiny. I love it though, it's my space. This weekend I have painted it all and then decided to get creative. I had some white ikea shelves that needed tidying up so I cleaned them all up and then painted the back board of the shelf teal to match my colour scheme. Then I grabbed the wooden shelves painted them white and the back teal and now it all matches!

This is one of the ikea shelves...

I'm really pleased with it and happy that now all my furniture matches and the colour scheme works. Makes my small office seem more spacious! Yay!

Riverbank Revels

Have you guys discovered Riverbank Revels? They're so cute! I'm thinking of using them to make dividers to decorate my filojournal. Everytime I go into the Range I stop to have a look at them!

Spontaneous fun!

Been on a spontaneous trip to London with a friend this weekend, it's been amazing! We were part of the audience on The Last Leg on the Friday night and then on Saturday we visited lots of shops we both love! We went to Paperchase, Artbox, Chinatown, various other arty places, the lego shop and Hamleys - so much fun!

I'd never been to half these places in London before. I love Paperchase but London Paperchase had 3 floors! We actually went twice in the 24hours we were there :p

I bought the stickers and the page clips at Paperchase and the notebook at Artbox.

and my first ever washi tape! I've been reading blogs and watching videos of people decorating their filos with washi tape and haven't worked out what I think about it so thought I'd give it a go!

We had an amazing time, chatting non-stop as normal and putting the world to rights! I told my mate about an idea I'd got for turning an A5 into a journal with a section for a gratitude journal, smashing, journaling, quotes, verses from the Bible etc. She said it sounded so cool she wanted one too. Think I'm going to have to work on her! Having mulled this idea over for weeks I may have to actually do it! I miss journalling and scrapbooking and this may be exactly what I need! Watch this space! :)
